Welcome to SMPS Charlotte's Boot Camp Series!

Stay in front of industry marketing trends and tools with SMPS Charlotte’s 2014 Boot Camp series!

This series includes six programs, each of which will leave you with implementable ideas and practices that will lead to winning more work for your firm. The programs will cover SMPS’s Six Domains of Practice and will provide participants with an understanding of market research, marketing planning, business development, proposals, social media, and business performance.

All Boot Camp events will include lunch and be held at A M King's office.

 

Domain 2:  Marketing Plans

"If You Don't Know Where You Are Going, You Might Not Get There!"

Most firms do not have a marketing plan. In today's competitive market and with the challenges the AEC industry continues to face, having a clear marketing strategy allows you to position your firm and its services ahead of the competition.

So how do you create a workable and strategic marketing plan?

This session helps you develop mechanisms to evaluate current marketing efforts and focus the process to get you where you want to be. We’ll cover best practices for aligning strategic goals, how to do your homework: understanding markets/clients, the marketing mix, budgeting, and implementing it all into an action plan.

 

Diane Rutledge, CPSM

Responsible for corporate marketing and branding for Gilbane Building Company. A global firm with more than 50 offices located both domestically and internationally. Responsible for strategic development and implementation of companywide marketing/brand efforts, positioning regional offices, and development of emerging business units. Work with regional marketing managers, business development, and internal functional departments to ensure consistency of brand and messaging. Also work directly with business units including Florida, Carolinas, Georgia, Mid-Atlantic, and Chicago to develop strategies for research, communications, public relations, community impact, social media, and advertising.

Gilbane provides a full slate of construction and facilities-related services – from pre-construction planning and integrated consulting capabilities to comprehensive construction management, close-out and facility management services – for clients across various markets. Marking its 140th year in operation and still a privately held, family-run company.

Cancellations made 72-hours prior to the event will receive a refund. Due to our commitment with the meeting facility for food and beverage quantities, all other cancellations or no-shows will be invoiced for the full cost of the event.
