Please join us for a panel of experts that are helping to design, engineer and build the expanding Multi-Family and Assisted Living market in the Charlotte Region. We will learn how and why the market is growing in our region and how it is affecting the area.

Panel: Desiree MacSorley RLS, Senior Principal; Design Resource Group:Ms. MacSorley is a founding partner and senior principal of Design Resource Group, PA since 1992. She has accumulated over 31 years of experience in all aspects of landscape architecture and land planning, much of it employing and implementing designs that foster a strong sense of Community and employ Traditional Neighborhood and Smart Growth Design Principles throughout the Southeast. She is actively involved in the initial analysis, programming, and conceptual design of the project, master planning, land entitlement, regulatory/permitting needs, and construction documentation. Ms. MacSorley is involved on a daily basis with current and future land use planning and design issues as they pertain to the physical, environmental, aesthetic and economic planning strategies. Ms. MacSorley has the unique ability communicate design solutions with passion, creativity and vision that surf the midpoint between art and practicality in order to inspire others and create a better built environment. She emphasizes team involvement and coordination across disciplines in order  to create successful projects for the Client and the ultimate end user.                                        

Panel: Fred Bolt, Senior Vice President; Adolfson & Peterson Construction: Fred has over twenty-seven years of experience in the development, construction, acquisition, and management of multi-family communities. He has national, regional, and local expertise with seasoned experience in most metropolitan cities throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Sunbelt regions. Through his past experience he brings a unique understanding of planning, design, preconstruction, project delivery and finance to his projects. Fred has experience and knowledge leading teams to successfully complete large and complex projects. He currently heads A&P’s national Multi-Family Community of Practice. BS in Finance/Financial Institutions from West Virginia University. Member of ULI and National Multi-Family Housing.

Panel: Chuck Travis, AIA Principal, LEED AP; Housing Studio: Charles L. Travis, III, AIA has been a long-term advocate for the art, craft and technology of housing practice, dedicating his career to formulating housing design strategies that are both economically and environmentally sustainable. His work has resulted in applicable solutions for the challenges housing projects bring to owners, communities and infrastructure. Numerous design awards, including multiple AIA awards, a traveling fellowship, and over twenty multi-family industry awards, attest to the impact his work has had on suburban communities, high-rise condominiums, historic renovations, and single-family homes. In 2010, Chuck received the AIA Charlotte Service Award in recognition of his extraordinary service to the community and profession. Chuck has lectured on housing design trends to national and international audiences, and continues to serve as a frequent juror to academic housing studios and award committees. An elected Commissioner to the Town of Cornelius, North Carolina, Chuck has worked to establish an Architectural Review Board and co-authored architectural guidelines for the preservation of the town’s historic residential district.
