SMPS Charlotte invites you to learn more about The Line through our panel and tour event starting at 4:30pm on March 14th. We'll kick-off things in Northeastern's space on floors 8 and 9 with a panel discussion about the design and delivery of the building. Panelists include representatives from Gensler, Little, and DPR Construction with more panelists to be added in the future. Once the panel concludes, we'll breakout into groups for a guided tour of the building, finishing up with a happy hour at Sycamore Brewing.

MEET THE MODERATOR

Melanie Reddrick, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NCIDQ 

Melanie is a licensed architect and a registered interior designer from Little, who holds a Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from UNC Charlotte. Her varied professional experience includes work for public, private, local, and international clients in all phases of project development. Melanie also have hands-on experience in higher education, serving as both an instructor (full and part-time) and administrator.

MEET THE PANELISTS

Holly Christian, NCIDQ, RID-NC

Holly is a Design Principal at Little. She is expert in delivering inspired places that support people’s ability to live, work and play. A trusted advisor to her clients, she brings visionary leadership and positive energy to every project and team. Holly is passionate about delivering purpose driven results to impact client business and user experience. Holly leads work in diverse practice areas including energy, technology, financial, professional services, learning environments and consumer products.

Julie Jackson

Solving complex problems in the built world is Julie Jackson’s passion. She believes the role of Architecture and Design is to improve the human condition in our communities and beyond. In her 19 years at Gensler, Julie’s fortunate to have led award-winning base building and interiors projects for a variety of dynamic clients. Her experience spans Workplace, Corporate Headquarters, Mixed Use, Government, Hospitality and Education. As a Design Manager and leader in the Office Buildings Practice Area, she guides and mentors her team to deliver impactful and resilient design.

Julie began her career in Gensler’s New York Office and after 9 years made the move to her home state and joined Gensler’s Charlotte office. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Wake Forest University and her Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. 

Tom Petty

Tom has been in the construction industry in Charlotte since 1985.  Primarily his focus has been ground up commercial and higher education projects but has also worked on advanced tech, life science, and industrial projects.  Tom roles have included Project Manager, Preconstruction manager, Project Executive and Business Unit Leader.  Tom was the Project Executive for DPR Construction on The Line.  DPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for the commercial, higher education, advanced technology, life sciences and healthcare markets.
