InDesign for Beginners

Join InDesign expert and co-host of the InDesign Secrets podcast, Anne-Marie “Her Geekness” Concepcion, in this fun and fast-paced session. You'll learn best practices for setting up your files, customizing program defaults, importing and formatting text and graphics, and the two tools and two panels you will be using 80% of the time.

Advanced InDesign

There is a lot of automation available in InDesign to help designers quickly lay out and format a beautiful proposal, but few users are aware of what's available. In this session, InDesign expert Anne-Marie Concepcion will show you how to use Nested and GREP text styles to speed up text formatting, use a bundled script to clean up messy text from Word, apply image formatting styles as soon as you import them, create automatic Tables of Contents, even how to send your layout out for comments without leaving InDesign.
 
Creative Cloud Features
November 16, 2022 | Noon  - 1pm
Do you need to use the same styles, colors, text, and images in different files on your own computer and those of your team? Creative Cloud Libraries could be your answer. Anne-Marie Concepcion will show you how to use this handy repository of your company's visual assets, and access them in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Learn how to organize elements, back them up, and manage libraries in your personal Adobe Cloud account.

Anne-Marie “Her Geekness” Concepción is a digital publishing expert. She owns Chicago-based Seneca Design & Training (http://www.senecadesign.com), a cross-media publication and production design studio. She and her design and development team provide publishers with InDesign templates, style sheets and object libraries for automated production; set up editorial and design collaboration for local and remote users, and help users publish ebooks and tablet apps from InDesign, Word, and PDF source files. 
 
As one of the nation’s premiere independent Adobe Certified instructors and consultants, Anne-Marie teaches hands-on classes at client sites and conferences around the world, specializing in Adobe InDesign, and integrations with Creative Cloud, MS Office, Google Docs, Dropbox, Slack, and other collaborative solutions. Her clients include the American Bar Association, Nike, Purdue University, Harvard Magazine, Harper Collins, World Book Publishing, Discover magazine, Penn State University, Kaiser Permanente, the Mayo Clinic, Macmillan Publishing, and Northwestern University Press.
