North Carolina is one of the most cost efficient states in the country for Manufacturing, a new study has found. The report, from the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER), used 2007 Economic Census data to determine where the most cost-efficient manufacturing took place. AIER’s research found that North Carolina has the second lowest unit cost of any state in the country and was No. 4 in production cost-efficiencies.

Dale Carroll was appointed Deputy Secretary of Commerce by Gov. Bev Perdue in January 2009. He brought three decades of business management and executive leadership to the position. He is a past president of the N.C. Economic Developers Association and has served on the state’s Economic Development Board and the N.C. Biotechnology Center’s Advisory Committee for Biotechnology in Western North Carolina. Carroll received a Bachelor of Science degree from N.C. State University and a master’s degree in management and human relations from Webster University in St. Louis.
