As a marketing professional or business development leader in the A/E/C field, your collateral needs to walk-the-walk and talk-the-talk. Not only does the messaging need to be on-point, but to compete at the top, the overall visual appeal of your communications must reflect the firm’s style. Understanding basic graphic design principles and mastering a few key skill sets will help steer your path towards more visually appealing collateral. Whether you want to be more informed when communicating with your outsourced graphic design firm or internal graphic design team, or you’re a rock star combination marketer/graphic designer for your firm, this course will offer an insight into graphic design best practices.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will understand the basics of typography and best practices for legibility in type layout.
- Participants will learn the difference between image-types, how imagery can support and enhance messaging, and how to protect yourself from copyright-infringement.
- Participants will gain basic knowledge in achieving successful layouts that ‘play nice’ with collaborators and professional printers.
- Participants will walk away with ample resources to explore fonts, imagery and inspiration.
